Chief Operating Officer, Microbiologics
Donna Scholer is the Chief Operating Officer at Microbiologics. During her 39-year tenure at Microbiologics, Donna has helped transition the company from a small, localized medical device and testing company to a global leader in the production of biomaterials for quality control.
Having gone from the laboratory to the office, Donna has gained great insight into the workings of all sides of the business. The manufacturing of microorganisms is a unique and challenging opportunity to bring science and manufacturing under one umbrella.
Donna has a passion for food safety and was published in International Food Hygiene and lobbied in Washington for the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). This is in keeping with the mission of Microbiologics, “To provide the highest quality biomaterials for a safer, healthier world.”
She currently sits on the United Way of Central Minnesota Board, The Beautiful Mind Project Board, the ASM COMS POMS Advisory Board, and helps to mentor many young scientists and operations’ members through their careers. She is also a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Affinity Group at Granite Partners.
Whether she is flying to Scotland to secure a deal with a culture collection or changing the toilet paper roll in the bathroom stall, as a leader, Donna does what needs to be done.
Donna attended St. Cloud State University and received the 2018 Executive Cornerstone Award from Granite Partners.
