Summit Spotlight: Yodee Rivera
Store Director, Coborn’s Inc

We are so excited that Yodee is joining us at the 2022 Women of Influence Summit on Friday, September 16 as a video speaker to share about making hard choices that change your plans. To help you get to know Yodee better check out her answers to our interview questions below:

What does a typical day look like for you?
I typically wake up to morning kisses from my dog, Frank. He is the first to let me know it’s time to wake up and let my other dog, Tio, out. My first hour at work is typically spent checking emails and responding to guest surveys. After walking the store and checking in with all departments, I create a “vision list” for myself highlighting my to-dos and setting a priority level to each one. We have a morning huddle every day at 10am and communicate any important information amongst dept managers. The rest of my day is spent completing the tasks on my “vision list” and partnering with different teams throughout the store to keep our guests happy.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Training. I love helping others learn and grow. I have been fortunate enough to have some wonderful mentors throughout my career, so I aim to pass on my knowledge and skills to others.

How do you spend your free time?
Soccer! I still play on a co-ed adult league and I coached the U19 boys’ team this past summer. Most importantly, cheering on Minnesota United and Minnesota Aurora.

What’s on your summer reading list?
“What if Love is the Point” and “Persuasion”

How has Next Monday been of value to you and/or your career?
Next Monday showed me that we all have a story worth telling and that it’s important to be unapologetically, ME.

What are you looking forward to at the Women of Influence Summit in September?
I look forward to hearing inspirational stories and meeting inspirational people.

What are you hoping to share with fellow attendees at the Women of Influence Summit?
I hope that fellow attendees leave the summit feeling a sense of belonging.

What is your favorite family tradition?
Celebrating Christmas Eve with a big dinner and staying up until midnight to open our Christmas presents.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Play the ukulele.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 18?
It’ll all be worth it, I promise.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Europe in general. I love the emphasis they put on family time. To walk around on Sundays and see everything closed and families enjoying time together, is such a beautiful thing.

What is your favorite meal?
Tamales!
